This short term programme has been designed mainly to provide brief of Bioinformatics. The programme provides collecting, linking, and manipulating different types of biological information to discover new biological insight. Thus it works as re-fresher course for those already in the industry and an insight or practical guide for those planning to enter into this sector. You can complete this course from your own city.

Any Indian or overseas applicants must fulfill following criteria for enrolling into the one year Bioinformatics program. The applicant must be a Graduate in B.Sc in Biology or B.Sc in Maths/Statistics with biology in 10+2 as one of the subjects.
Minimum time in which a student can complete this diploma course is 6 months while a maximum of 12 months is allowed to complete the course.
The registration dates for this bi-annual programme run by the institute are updated timely on the webpage. The Training sessions and webinars are scheduled preferably on weekends depending on the availability of visiting faculty.. Effective E-learning tools incorporated into the design of the webpage make the course lectures, videos and study material easily accessible. This gives huge window of self-regulated and self-paced performance to the participants.
IGMPI follows a credit system based on all all learning activities involved in studying for all PG Diploma, Executive Diploma and Certificate Programmes. Each of your modules is equal to 4 credits. To successfully complete the programme, you will have to earn all the credits assigned to your programme.
All the participants are expected to appear for an online exam and are also obliged to submit assignments after each module. After successful completion, the participants will be awarded Executive Diploma in Bioinformatics. For all the above mentioned modules elaborate course material, self-assessment assignments and project work details would be provided by the Institute from time to time. Details get updated on the webpage as well.
The Institute has partnered with many organizations for providing with placement assistance to in its participants. Besides, it has a robust placement cell comprised of senior level Human Resources professionals and Talent Acquisition experts which maintains close links with business and industry. This cell is continuously engaged in promoting the employability of our participants and encouraging the concerned Human Resources department and Hiring Managers to recruit/hire our participants for their vacant positions. The efforts of our placement cell also include helping with professional resume writing & interview skills.
The efforts of our placement cell also include helping with professional resume writing, interview skills & conducting mock interviews etc.
In recent months the Institute has witnessed more and more participation from professionals working with global pharmaceutical, healthcare and food giants like Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Aurobindo Pharma, Glenmark Generics, Cipla, Wockhardt, Pfizer, Abbott, Medtronic, Foster Corporation, Ipca Laboratories, Calyx, Mother Dairy, Bliss GVS Pharma, Al Rawabi, Almarai, Green Pastures, Accenture, Wipro, Fortis Clinical Research, Quintiles, SeQuent, PepsiCo India, Mankind, Beryl Drugs, CFTRI, Ciron, Sun Pharmaceutical, Novartis, GlaxoSmithKline, Biocon, Apollo Hospitals, etc.
Current biological and medical labs use methods that produce extremely large data sets, which cannot be analyzed by hand - for instance sequencing human genomes. Thus modern biological and medical research and development cannot be done without bioinformatics.
Future applications in biology, chemistry, pharmaceuticals, medicine, and agriculture.
In addition, bioinformatics plays an important role in biomedical research. Research work in the area of genetic diseases and medical genomics is rapidly increasing and the future of personalized medicine depends on bioinformatics approaches.
