Iran attempting to adopt GMP guidelines for radiopharmaceuticals
Iran is currently attempting to acquire the good manufacturing practice (GMP) standards for radiopharmaceuticals. If Iran acquires the GMP standards, it will be able to export the radiopharmaceuticals to European countries as well. During a visit to the Tehran Research Reactor director of the drug production department of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said Iran have held numerous sessions with the Health Ministry on implementing good manufacturing practice instructions. Iran is currently exporting radiopharmaceuticals to seven countries. Currently Iran countries importing Iranian radiopharmaceuticals include Germany, India, Egypt, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Syria. Iran has been taking giant steps in exporting radiopharmaceuticals and adopting GMP guidelines is one of them.
