Karnataka Drugs Control seizes 28 inferior standard drugs and issues warning

The drugs found to be not of standard quality are Feziol tablets, Levin-5 which is a combination of Levocetirizine Dihydrocloride, RRAZ-DSR a rabeprazole sodium and domperidon capsules, Amoxicillin and Dicloxacillin capsules sold under the brand name Moxilium tablets, Throxine tablets, Pant D which contains Pantoprazole and Domperidone, Pantus –D, Glysoft soap, Telmisat -80, Omespan capsules, etc. If the patients used these drugs they would not have got the required results. Even if the drugs were manufactured by the companies strictly following good manufacturing practices, they were not transported in the right cold chain transport systems or were not refrigerated at the chemist outlets.
Karnataka Drugs Controller told that the available stocks of the drugs which were found to be not of standard quality will be recalled from the supply chain and suitable action will be taken as per the Drugs and Cosmetic Rules. The state drugs control department has been known for its regular and surprise inspections carried out every monthto pick random samples and to test its content.
