Relish Foods recalls tuna steaks following consumer complaints, and FDA testing found levels of histamines

Relish Foods Inc. of El Segundo, CA, recalled “Frozen Pacific Fusion” brand 10-ounce packages of tuna steaks that could cause food poisoning.

FDA sampling followed by a consumer complaint revealed the product might contain high levels of histamines that can cause scombroid fish poisoning.

The implicated product was distributed in Northern California and sold at Save Mart Supermarkets and Lucky Stores between October 6, 2021, and December 27, 2021.

The consumers may still possess the recalled products as the Best Buy date extends over is not until July 2023.

The tuna steaks bear the following dates and production code in the top right corner:

Best Before July 2023

As of this recall, Relish Foods does not believe that any affected product is still available for purchase by consumers. Apart from the initial complaint, Relish Foods has not received any other objections to date
